Frits de Kousemaeker is well known in the Dutch the real estate industry, with over 40 years of experience. Frits de Kousemaeker acquired all relevant qualifications, amongst which the diploma of the Dutch Federation of Estat Agents, before working in various sectors of the property industry. De Kousemaeker was active in management (brokerage), properties (real estate), commercial real estate (brokerage), real estate projects and investing (investor Pakhoed, Blauwhoed division) and international real estate (Zadelhoff Deutschland GmbH, where he was director from 1976 to 1979). Frits de Kousemaeker served as a board member for the Amsterdam Brokers Association (MVA) and for years he was professor in the Dutch broker’s education. For many years he was a member of the Examination Board of the real estate Foundation (SVM). As from 1983 de Kousemaeker became co-owner of DTZ group and subsequently director of the Amsterdam offices, Rotterdam and The Hague offices and the central marketing department. From 1992 to 1998 Frits de Kousemaeker was member of the Real Estate Business Sector (BOG) board of the Dutch Association of Estate Agents (NVM). He was also director of the Foundation for Investment and Real Estate (SVB), linked to the Realty Studies department at the University of Amsterdam. De Kousemaeker resigned as co-owner of the DTZ group on 1 January 2000 in order to spend more time on his own property investment portfolio and to write real estate books. De Kousemaeker wrote 7 books about real estate, entitled “Practical Property Aspects”. In 2000, the books “Lofts in Amsterdam” and “Lofts of Antwerp” were published, in collaboration with the Belgian publisher “Tectum”. The books “Lofts of London” and “Lofts of Paris” followed in 2001. In October 2002 “Lofts in Berlin” was released, in 2003 “Lofts of Scandinavia” and in 2004 “Loft Boats” and “Lofts of Brussels”. In mid 2001 de Kousemaeker made his appearance as a broker in a dozen episodes of the Dutch television program “House for Sale” from broadcasting channel de Avro.
